Asia Gagnon Hudson Valley Artist
Writer, Director, and Script Supervisor based in Beacon, NY, crafting compelling stories and visuals through theatre and film.

Creative Mission
My art is driven by my desire to reexamine stories that exist within our collective consciousness. It is an attempt to lay out all the pieces, and inspect the themes and lessons they are trying to impart. Many of them hold the seeds of toxic views that still flourish in western society. I want to transform them into something new, something that helps us to grow instead of restricting us.
There is a way to reshape the tale of Medusa, a story about a woman punished for her own sexual assault by being turned into a monster, into one that empowers survivors of sexual assault to feel proud of their strength and survival. There is a way to explore the fall of Icarus that questions the wisdom of chiding ourselves for “flying too close to the sun”. One must only be willing to take these powerfully ancient stories apart, and build something that brings new and inclusive ideas to the table with the pieces.

I cannot speak highly enough about Asia's talents, she is a renaissance woman that can seemingly do anything. I've seen her direct, act, produce, show run, and every project she's on, she elevates."
